My Valentines

14 02 2008

Today we went to a valentines party that was organized through our homeschool group.  It was suppose to have older teens, but it mainly turned out to be 40 screaming little kids crammed in a space the size of my room. There were 2 other teenagers who looked like they really didn’t want to be there.  One of them just sat there and played his Nintendo until his mom told him to unplug himself.  Then he just sat there and made a fake Nintendo out of pip-cleaners.

It may sound like I a horrible time, and that’s what I thought at first.  I kept thinking how much I would rather be at a science class with my friends instead of trying to cram valentines in little boxes.  But then I realized that this life isn’t all about me.  I saw my brothers playing with other boys, and my mom talking with other moms.  So I just decided to enjoy myself as much as possible.

Some people don’t realize that life isn’t all about them.  That is why divorces, fights and many other things happen ever day.  People are born selfish, and if you don’t learn to over come that, then you will have a miserable life.

But…

good thing the valentines party was only an hour long. ;-)
